Indian Solar Giant Waaree Lands Major 452 MW US Supply Deal, Bolstering Global Green Energy Shift

In a significant move underscoring India’s growing role in the global clean energy sector, Waaree Energies announced on Tuesday that its American subsidiary has secured a major supply order in the United States. Waaree Solar Americas has bagged a contract to provide 452 megawatts (MW) of advanced solar modules to a leading US developer of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.

The modules are scheduled for delivery throughout the 2026-27 financial year. This substantial order marks a pivotal step in strengthening Waaree’s footprint in the North American market. More importantly, the company highlights the deal as evidence of a strategic shift, with the US market increasingly leveraging Indian manufacturing prowess to meet its ambitious decarbonization and renewable energy goals.

The agreement positions India as a trusted and strategic partner in diversifying the global renewable energy supply chain, offering a robust alternative to traditional manufacturing hubs. This comes at a crucial time when nations are seeking to de-risk their clean energy infrastructure development.

Sunil Rathi, President of Waaree Solar Americas, emphasized the broader significance of the deal, stating, “This order is more than a commercial achievement—it is a symbol of India’s rise as a clean energy manufacturing powerhouse.” He added that Waaree is proud to act as a “reliable bridge between continents,” providing not just high-quality modules but also the confidence to accelerate the worldwide energy transition.

Waaree Energies, India’s largest solar module manufacturer, confirmed that the agreement is a one-time supply contract with no involvement from promoters or related parties, ensuring its arms-length commercial nature. The deal represents a major commercial and strategic win for the Indian renewable energy industry on the world stage.
